Blood Cholesterol: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

The Association’s monthly seminar of March will be presented by Dr Richard Pang, Scientific Officer (Medical) of Clinical Biochemistry Division, Queen Mary Hospital on Friday, March 28, 2003. The topic of his seminar is “Blood Cholesterol: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!” and will commence at 7:00 pm in the Lecture Room, 4^th floor of the Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong, Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, 15^th Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong. One HKMTA CPD Accreditation point will be awarded to those who have attended the seminar.

On-line Course Series of Chinese Medicine

School of Continuing Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong is launching the third phase of the On-line Course Series of Chinese Medicine from 31 March, 2003. The course series allow students, who intend to learn about Chinese medicine, another mode of learning besides the traditional face-to-face teaching.

The first five modules to be offered are: “Basic Theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine”, “Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnostics”, “Chinese Pharmacy”, “Traditional Chinese Medicine Formulae”, and “Hong Kong Health Care System and Chinese Medicine Regulations”.

23rd International Tutorial on Clinical Cytology and Biomarkers

The 23rd International Tutorial on Clinical Cytology and Biomarkers, jointly organised by The Hong Kong College of Pathologists and IAC Tutorials of Cytology is scheduled to be held at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building from October 2 to 9, 2003. This is the first time that Tutorials of Cytology and its renowned faculty conduct this program in Hong Kong. It is guaranteed to be a memorable and successful event with attendance by the global community involved in cytology. The tutorial will be an excellent opportunity for relative beginners in the discipline to learn from the masters, but it is also designed to cater for the needs of experienced colleagues who wish to be exposed to the latest trends. The tutorial will also act as a final refresher for those who wish to sit for the IAC International Board of Cytopathology and IAC Registry Examination for cytotechnologists, which will be held at the conclusion of the meeting. Up to 63 credits towards revalidation of the certificate will be provided to IAC-registered cytotechnologists.
