Survey Four 2001

Supplied Progesterone Receptor

A section of an invasive papillary carcinoma shows the tumour cells with the majority of the nuclei staining with medium to high intensity. It should be noticed that the nuclei of normal glands will also be positive but not the invasive ductal carcinoma. The best result is obtained by peroxidase blocking for 20 min., microwave treatment for 23 min., and immuno-stained with 1:10 diluted primary antibody for 32 min. at 37 oC.

In-house Progesterone Receptor

A section from same tissue block is immunostained with in-house progesterone receptor. The average result is comparable with that stained with supplied antibody except more paler in staining. The best result is obtained by peroxidase blocking for 10 min., pressure cooking treatment for 2 times, 15 min. each, and immuno-stained with 1:30 diluted primary antibody for 60 min. at room temperature.
