World Congress 2002 comprises the 25th World Congress of the International Association of Medical Laboratory Technologists and the 70th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. It will be held in Orlando, Florida, USA from July 30 to August 3, 2002.

The congress topics will span the broad range of laboratory disciplines and specially include Molecular Biology in the Clinical Laboratory, Hematology and Coagulation Advances, Microbiology Around the World, and International Clinical Laboratory Science Practice.

The full registration fee for HKMTA and other IAMLT member societies' members is US$290 by June 7, 2002 and US$340 after the date. For non-members, it is US$435 and US$485 respectively. The fee includes admission to the main World Congress program which will feature more than 40 sessions from July 31 to August 3, the Clinical Laboratory Expo from July 30 to August 1, and the annual meeting of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry from July 28 to August 1.

The Congress also offers 2- and 3-day intensive pre-congress Advanced Training Institutes from July 27 to 29, half- and full-day pre-congress Workshops on July 30, and Luncheon Roundtables on August 2. Pre-registration and additional fees are required.

Orlando is famous for its more than 90 attractions, including Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, for people of all ages. Consider combining your World Congress trip with a family holiday!

The Sheraton World Resort Orlando will serve as the host hotel. The special group rates for the "ASCLS - IAMLT Meeting" are: Resort Rooms at US$110 or Tower Rooms at US$119 plus tax (currently 11%) per night, for single/double. All reservation requests, accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card, must reach the Sheraton by June 28 or before the ASCLS - IAMLT block of rooms filled.
