CHARACTERISTIC of Eosinophil

Size

12 - 17 um in diameter

Cytoplasm

Weakly basophilic, ribosomes and rough endoplasmic reticulum being more abundant than in mature neutrophils

With spherical eosinophilic granules that are considerably larger than those of neutrophils

Eosinophil granules pack the cytoplasm and stain reddish-orange

Nucleus

Usually bilobed but occasional nuclei are trilobed
